Welcome to this month’s FREETOGO blog post.

As I mentioned in last month’s blog post, I need to make some major changes to FREETOGO. I am pleased to share that I have diligently worked on making the necessary changes. I hope to be ready to publish the new website soon.

Yet, unlike last month, this month, I will make recommendations for a few ad-free videos to watch.

You may recall that I am making major changes to FREETOGO because YouTube no longer starts many of its videos with a short ad that one can skip after four to five seconds. YouTube now begins most videos with ads that are, on average,  two minutes long.

Consequently, most of the videos on FREETOGO no longer pass my curation test. I know that people in my target group have no interest or patience to watch a long commercial.

With that said, I have identified a few videos that do not have ads.

Now, let’s move on to the recommended videos for this month. They are all in categories found under the Locations section on the Travel Now page.

1)     To begin, please take a look at the Locations – N. America category. For ad-free viewing in this category, choose any video that is created by Expedia.

I am recommending you take a look at FLORIDA KEYS, FLORIDA USA | EXPEDIA. This location will be especially interesting to people experiencing a cold winter.

“Follow our adventure in the southernmost part of the continental U.S. to see the epic string of islands that make for the ultimate beach vacation. An hour’s drive off the coast of Miami is the Florida Keys, made up of approximately 1,700 tropical islands waiting to be explored. This area is known for its exceptional fishing and diverse habitats, from hardwood hammocks to coral reefs. Visitors are entertained by seeing the old home of a famed literary figure, Ernest Hemingway, raising a glass in one of the local dive bars, or simply laying out a towel on the beach to enjoy views of the Gulf of Mexico or the Atlantic Ocean, depending on which beach they pick.”

2)     Next, take a look at the Locations – S. America category. For ad-free viewing in this category, choose any video that is created by Expedia.

The video to focus on here? Sao Paulo, Brazil | Expedia. If you have never been there, you’ll be amazed by what you see!

“Welcome to one of the world’s most populated cities. Check out the best spots to visit in Brazil’s exciting hub of business, culture, creativity, and hospitality. This Sao Paulo video will take you on a tour of historical sites such as Pátio do Colégio and Praça da Sé which now houses the towering Metropolitan Cathedral. Visit the city’s most esteemed museums: the São Paulo Museum of Art, on the famous Avenida Paulista, and the Pinacoteca do Estado. The Viaduto Santa Ifigenia, an art nouveau bridge, leads pedestrians to the ornate Municipal Theatre, with its impressive Sala São Paulo concert hall. Don’t miss Ibirapuera Park, home to the modern Ibirapuera Auditorium, the São Paulo Museum of Modern Art, and the Afro-Brazil Museum. Meet Brazil’s soccer heroes through the interactive exhibits of the Football Museum in Pacaembu Stadium. Explore all of São Paulo’s neighborhoods and bustling cultural hubs to discover that this city is the engine behind Brazil’s economy and its cultural powerhouse.”

3)     Lastly, take a look at the Locations – Asia category. For ad-free viewing in this category, choose any video that is created by Expedia.

Check out the video, Bangkok, Thailand | Expedia. This is a great way of getting to know one of the most iconic cities in the Far East.

Bangkok – A city that tosses neon-lit streets and ancient temples together with flair! In this video, check out the best things to see and do in Bangkok. Journey with us to the capital of Thailand and join the 8 million people who call this city home. Visiting Bangkok means immersing yourself in a city of contrasts. From its homage to ancient cultures to the ultra-modern skyscrapers that line the downtown area, you’ll soon discover why this lively metropolis has won so many “World’s Best City” awards from various publications. Some claim it’s the perfect mixture of food, friendly citizens, shopping, and things to do. Visitors enjoy the tropical weather, temples, and landscapes here, as well as the arts and crafts, glowing nightlife, and 50,000 eateries – the street food is unmissable!”

Note: FREETOGO is entirely free. Also, there are no ads on the site to interrupt your visit. However, that is not true for many of the videos because YouTube hosts them. They are free to watch but have ads. Yet, if you wish, you can eliminate the ads by paying to become a premium member of YouTube.

You can access YouTube’s Premium Membership signup here:

I invite you to check out the above videos and the many others curated for this website.

Also, be sure to see all of the many ways people are using FREETOGO at the bottom of the ’Travel Now’ page.

Most importantly, help to improve the quality of life of everyone. Please share this website far and wide, especially with anyone unable to travel freely. Sign up as a member, leave a testimonial, and visit the website regularly!

Get creative and have some fun traveling virtually. I look forward to the day when the term Virtual Travel will be as commonplace as the term travel.

Thank you.”
